Off the grid days

Has it seriously been over two months since I’ve written here? Wow. Life really gets in the way sometimes. For the first time in about a decade, I didn’t make it up to the cottage for Memorial Day weekend. Lots has been going on with the end of the school year coming in a few days and hosting the big car convention in 40 some days. I’ll be glad when it’s all over so I can get some well deserved island time. This May has been full of thunderstorms – one of which knocked the power out last Saturday night. We haven’t had a blackout in a long time, so I was excited to break out some of our new candle holders. It’s amazing how well candles can light the place. It makes me want to have a night a week where we don’t use any electricity.

Here’s husbandman in the living room. Yes, we keep our Halloween tree up all year. :)

A halloween tree? How cool! I’m so happy to see the sun… goodbye rain!

Thanks! We put it up for Halloween a year and a half, but it looks so cool that I couldn’t bear to take it down. I keep telling myself that once I find something to go in that corner year-round, I’ll take the tree down, but I haven’t found anything for that corner yet. lol
